Best VPP programs in Australia
A VPP, or Virtual Power Plant, is a scheme where an energy retailer pays to draw on your home battery at peak times. In return you get sign up credits, bill credits or payments per event. If you own a battery, or are about to buy one, the right VPP can add hundreds of dollars a year. The wrong one can cycle your battery hard for very little.
The programs below are the leading residential VPPs as at July 2026. Terms change often, always confirm on the operator's site before signing.

Is a VPP worth it?
It depends on the battery you have and the price you paid for it. A VPP improves the payback of a battery that was bought at a fair price. It cannot rescue an overpriced one. Before you sign a battery quote, check the price is fair first, then pick the plan and VPP that pay you the most.
